Romance is Everything

WH Smith has launched a new promotion, this free canvas bag when you buy any four Mills & Boon titles. The lovely slogan made me think about amending it to 'Romance writing is Everything'. I've always found writing to be a wonderful escape when life is a bit crap and I'm certainly finding that now.
So, while in the waiting room to see the neurologist yesterday I dreamt up the beginnings of a new story (the ultimate indulgence when you have two WIPs waiting to be finished). Not much news to report on the head injury front - yet more waiting for an MRI scan and cognitive testing to work out exactly what's going on and some powerful drugs that I've been told will probably make me feel lousy for a couple of months but then might (and only MIGHT) bring me some relief from the headaches I've had every day since the accident nearly six months ago. During examination it became apparent that I've lost quite a lot of feeling in one side of my face and one eye which was a bit worrying.
So my new acronym of the day is NTAAEW (a new variation of Jackie's NTAI) - From now on I'm Not Thinking About Anything Except Writing :-)

So glad they are giving you more tests but how frustrating they didn't do them 6 months ago. The lawyer in me thinks you need to get advice about their incompetence. You had a (obviously huge) bang on the head and they didn't scan/-ray you.

As for the bag, I am distressed it wasn't in WH Smith last week. I'm going to have to go again now. I love that bag! I think I need to go work out which 4 books I want :-)

I think you deserve the indulgence of thinking up a new begining.

Love the bag - like Joanne, I'm going to use it as an excuse for another visit to WH Smith.

What a nice bag. They'd never do anything like that in NZ - our bookshops are way too snobby.

Yes, I agree with Joanne, they should have done all the scans etc six months ago. Stupid NHS!

Ah well, at least they seem to be doing it right now. Not sure I've got the energy to take on the NHS so will concentrate on writing instead :-)

I think it's probably worth a trip to WH Smith to get the bag, shame the nearest one is 50 miles away!

I WANT A BAG!!!

Buuutt, I don't think I'll be getting one unless they appear in Australia.

Lorraine I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. I've had poor health myself and it can be completely terrifying, especially when you add drug side effects to the mix. It must be horrible to have realised that you've lost so much feeling. I have my fingers crossed that the medication will work wonders for you! *cyber hugs*

P.S. Love your new acronym

Ah Lacey, I knew there had to be a good payoff somewhere for our lousy UK weather :-) You get sunshine, we get...a WH Smiths bag!

Thanks for the hugs, writing is a nice distraction.
